Stream Analyze wants to welcome Martin Hansson who is joining our tech team, previously working at Oracle. Martin tells us a little about himself:
I focus on the core system of sa.engine, the most fundamental aspect of which is our ability to run on just about any piece of hardware out there, efficiently.
My first contact with the technology was when I did my master’s thesis on the research prototype that is the foundation of the stream analyze platform, so I was already well aware of the amazing potentional of this software. When I got the offer to work Stream Analyze, and a run-down of the problems that sa.engine will address, it was an easy decision for me.
At my previous job, I worked as a developer for the MySQL query optimizer. MySQL is a more traditional sql-based DMBS, facing all the challenges with a disk-based, transactional database engine. Nonetheless, DBMS technology is what ultimately powers sa.engine, and the problem domain is surprisingly similar.
In my spare time, I like to build lego robots with my kids, and to stay somewhat healthy I train the brazilian martial art of capoeira.
